We made this interview because we wanted more people to know about China. This interview can be a way to break some stereotype of Chinese. Many people in this school don't know much about China. However, there are many Chinese in this school. In order to promote the communication between Chinese exchange students and local students. Because many Chinese students feel nervous in front of the camera speaking English. And in order to make them feel comfortable, we decided to let them speak Chinese in this interview. We added the subtitle for the whole interview. Although it will take a long time for us to add the subtitle, we think it worth trying because they will feel confident when they speak their first language. 

 

We asked our Chinese friends that if they wanted to join this interview. After we told them our purpose, they showed strong interest in our project. We chose to be in the library to start our interview. After they were all there, we started our interview. The first person we interviewed was Grace. She is a local student here but she has some special experiences in China. She went to Shenzhen for the exchange before, so we invited her to join this interview. 

 

It was my first time to be in front of the camera. I did not know exactly what to do. For example, I did not know that I needed to look at the camera all the time but for some reasons I did it. During the interview, we made some mistakes when we were speaking but it was fine. We cut the part that we did not want. If there were too many mistakes, we just redo it. Before filming, we needed to find a proper angle and adjust the light. In order to make this interview better, we filmed it in 3 different places instead of just one. 

 

When we were doing the final process, we knew that we should stand in the same position in both beginning and the end. For example, if I stood on the left and Wendy stood on the right. The ending should be the same. Then we needed to select a shorter part for the BBA News. So there were a short version and a longer version.  After finishing all of this, we chose a happy music to add into the interview. Anyway, it is my first time making an interview with my partner and it was a special experience for me. And I hope this interview will encourage some Chinese students to join this class and give them confidence.
